Sitecore WFFM – Rule Section Missing

Sitecore Web Form For Marketers (WFFM) creates simple web forms that record and report information provided by visitors to your website. Following a question on the Sitecore Community, a user had the issue whereby the Rule Section is not present on the Form Designer as shown in the screenshot below:

something

For Sitecore version 6.x to 7.2, Sitecore is making use of DMS. Sitecore xDB was introduced as from Sitecore version 7.5.

For Sitecore v6.x to 7.2

You need to enable the Analytics.Enabled. Please follow the below steps

  1. Go to the Website\App_Config\Include folder.
  2. Search and open the configuration file Sitecore.Analytics.config.
  3. In the file, search for Analytics.Enabled and set the value to true.

For Sitecore v7.5 and up

The reason is because the Xdb.Tracking.Enabled is set to false. In order to solve the issue, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Website\App_Config\Include folder.
  2. Search and open the configuration file Sitecore.Xdb.config.
  3. In the file, search for Xdb.Tracking.Enabled and set the value to true.

Note that this option has license consequences according to the following link: Sitecore Documentation

    • Sitecore xDB has been introduced as from Sitecore 7.5. For Sitecore 7.2, it makes use of the Sitecore DMS. To activate it, make sure you have the analytics connection strings and also the Analytics.Enable is set to true in the config file Sitecore.Analytics.config
